Being told I cannot file my NY state return electronically because I am claiming a solar/ wind credit carryover -but in fact I am not! How do I correct this error?

Yes, you are able to delete the form in your tax return.  The solar energy credit for the New York (NY) state return would be Form IT-255 and for the federal return Form 5695. Follow the instructions to remove it from your tax file here in this thread.

I have the desktop version of Turbo Tax.

I also can not file NY State return electronically because of solar/wind credit carryover..I have no such carry over credit.

Form IT-255 is other additions and subtractions statement.

Please confirm what forms in Federal and NY State return I have to delete so that I can file electronically today.

Also, can I file just the Federal until this problem gets resolved?

Thank You so much!!!!!!

I have the same problem.  I have nothing entered in any of the space - no zeros, nothing. I have entered numbers then deleted them.  I have deleted form 255 and form 5695.  I am still getting the message that I can't e-file.

HELP!

If you're using TurboTax Online, and have deleted forms, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies, and retry.

You could Efile your Federal return now, and then Efile New York later.  Here's info on Filing Federal and State Returns Separately
