To enter a form 1099-R:

The 1099 R will be entered in the Retirement Plans and Social Security section.
• Select Federal Taxes
• Select Wages and Income
• Select Show More at Retirement Plans and Social Security
• Select IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)

Another way to get there is to enter 1099-R in the search box and then click "Jump to 1099-R".

@d_buse1952 - this is a 2 year old post.
2017 1099-R's can only be filed on a 2017 tax return.

Amended returns can only be mailed.  It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.

See Internal Revenue Bulletin:  2011-40  <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.irs.gov/irb/2011-40_IRB/ar10.html">https://www.irs.gov/irb/2011-40_IRB/ar10.html</a>
"Other than direct proof of actual delivery, proof of proper use of registered or certified mail, and proof of proper use of a duly designated PDS as provided for by paragraph (e)(2)(ii) of this section, are the exclusive means to establish prima facie evidence of delivery of a document to the agency, officer, or office with which the document is required to be filed. No other evidence of a postmark or of mailing will be prima facie evidence of delivery or raise a presumption that the document was delivered."

You can check the status of the amended return here, but allow 3 weeks after mailing.

If you've received a 1099-LTC for long term care insurance benefits, you would enter that in the TurboTax CD/Download version under Miscellaneous Income at the bottom of the Wages and Income screen. Click that, and choose Long Term Care Account Distributions.  Proceed with the screens and enter all your information. TurboTax will determine if any or all of the distribution is nontaxable.
