I am missing turbotax 2018 archived file (I have 2017 and before) How do I carry over rental depreciation?

Somewhere back in prior turbo tax years there must be date acquired and cost of property, but I can't find it.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

First, you have to know the total amount of depreciation already taken up to and including the 2018 depreciation. Without your 2018 tax file or a printout of same, it can be difficult to get.

One thing you might try is to go to https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and see if you can pull a transcript of your 2018 return. The information you will need "might" be in a transcript. If you can't pull it up online, then have it mailed to you. The IRS will mail it to the address on your most recently filed tax return.

The fact it will take 4-5 days for you to get it in the mail is irrelevant at this point, since your 2019 tax return is already late.
