Why is my completed and e-filed Virginia individual return not available when I download my tax documents from Turbotax?

Upon further research in the message board, I found an answer from @DoninGA .  Not sure why Turbotax doesn't automatically include the Virginia forms in the original PDF, but I was able to get what I needed by following @DoninGA 's instructions.  Pasted below:

 

Try using Print Center and the option for all worksheets.  The state tax return should be included -

 

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

Please try the steps in the below TurboTax Help Article to print your state return. Once you've downloaded the PDF you should see the various options of which forms and worksheets you would like to print. Make sure the state return is checked for printing.

This does not answer my question.  I have downloaded my federal and state return documents.  Both returns have been transmitted and accepted.  My completed Virginia Form 760 (the state return) is not within the PDF that I downloaded from Turbotax.  After reading the message boards, it seems others are having this problem.

I am having the same problem with desktop Turbotax: my 2021 return has been submitted and accepted, but when I print or save to PDF, TT says that that "Your Virginia return(s) is currently unavailable to view, print, or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet."  HELP!

@njgwinter Is sounds like you have a form on your state tax return that is not finalized for printing.  You can review the state forms availability by taking the following steps:

 

  1. Visit this Help Article:  State forms availability table for TurboTax individual ...
  2. Select your TurboTax product
  3. Click View availability next to your state.

Your form may be available for e-file.  However, you are not able to download forms that are not yet finalized for print.

I have exactly the same problem with TurboTax 2021, Virginia, Non resident Worker(all forms)Submitted and approved but cannot be printed or downloaded; illogical after I paid intuit $40 per state and $20 to transmit it. Also I checked the Virginia Individual Form Availability and 763 is available.

@MBSol If you're using TurboTax Online, please log out of your account and clear your browser's cache and cookies.  Then try once again to download and print.  For the CD/Download software, please check for updates or update manually using the steps listed here.

 

If you're still not able to download and print after following the above steps, contact us via phone for further assistance.
