It is what it is. No matter what you think the IRS probably can careless as they make the rules. Not trying to be rude but be thankful you're getting money back to begin with. Waiting an extra week or two shouldn't make your financial work collapse. Or you could go live in a 3rd world country where they take taxes and give nothing back.

Just a slight clarification.   The IRS does NOT make the rules.  It is called the PATH ACT, because it was an act of Congress, (a law) that made the "rule which is a law.   The IRS only applies and enforces the law that Congress passed.

The reason for the delay is to allow time for the IRS to receive W-2's and other forms to verify income before blindly paying claimed refunds that are based on that income in order to prevent tax fraud by claiming refunds that are based on income that does not exist.   Claiming fake income to get EIC/ACTC credits was a high runner tax fraud prior to the PATH ACT.

I filed with TT on 2/8/20 and my federal was immediately accepted, state took 2 days but was accepted as well. I have EIC AND ACTC. I have been checking it and of course I got the error message and read that the IRS would send me a confirmation email that they had received it. So I did more research everyday since then and saw that someone said that you had to enter your federal amount without state added in. I did that and got the same message so I checked with my state (Alabama) and saw that they had received my return, yet and still I had no conf. Email from anyone but TT, today I checked the IRS app and they have acknowledged that they have received my return, currently waiting on my other bars who I'm pretty sure won't pop up until the end of the month. Not sure if this will help anyone but I found answers and little things I could do to check in groups like this😁

If the cycle code is 20200705 should be  next thursday. But with offset idk. However they usually deduct what a person owes and sends the rest that usually doesnt hold up a return

@Kesi12  My cycle code is 20200405 and I owe back taxes. It’ll move pretty swiftly. But, it’ll take an extra week.
