So I already filed my taxes and received my return the problem is I received the return around the same time I received 2 other W2’s from 2 other jobs I worked in 2020. Now I don’t know what to do because my return has been accepted and everytime I’ve tried to do an amend thing it says rejected because my social security number was already used in a tax return. Is they’re anything at all I can do? I already have this feeling I’m going to get charged a fee because it wasn’t filed on time and I tried everything I could but it wouldn’t go through and I’m only getting a return of $40 and $60 from those jobs that I’m doing all this work for.
Follow these steps to successfully amend your return: How do I amend my 2020 return?
Otherwise, you can wait for the IRS to correct the return for you, but you may have additional penalties and interest added.
it sound like you are not in the account you used to file your original tax return.
If you e-Filed, you get one amendment e-File. It will not be rejected.
So I went to someone for it I didn’t use TurboTax or anything I just needed a platform for my question anyways how would I be able to find the site that the person who did my taxes use or can the IRS website show me the information to use for the amend process?
Since you didn't use TurboTax to do the original return, you could ask the person who did it to amend it. Your other option is to prepare the return again in TurboTax, and once you have it showing what your original refund amounts were, then use the amend return routine in TurboTax to prepare your amended return.
Missed my appointment on may 18th at 11:45 with my agent due to being at work an need a new tax refund appointment made as soon as possible an can't find it on your online page so please help me and reschedule my appointment for me please thank you
You must have a complete copy of the original tax return you want to update (or a transcript).
The simplest way is to prepare your correct tax return (using TurboTax for example, or other means) and print it.
Then lay the paper printouts of both returns (correct and original) side-by-side.
You now have all the information needed to prepare Form 1040-X by hand.
It's pretty straight-forward.
The blank form in fillable PDF format and its instructions are available at www.irs.gov.
Mail to the same address you would mail your original tax return.
I did my taxes with turbo tax on the app, can’t file because I have no money to pay yet! Trying to apply for assistance and they ask me for a picture of my 1040 AIG from 2020 taxes, I can’t get a picture because I can’t access my 2020 taxes till I pay turbo tax and file! Very frustrating need assistance and you jerks want me to upgrade to ask that question for $80 more dollars is a ripoff. I definitely will not using this service ever again! Assholes!

Go to this IRS website for operational status - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue
As of May 15, 2021, we had 300,000 individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of May 15, 2021, we had 16.4 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
I have been waiting on my refund since 04/05/2021. I was told 21 days. I want to know what the **bleep** problem is I need that money $1,800

You MUST leave the web browser window for TurboTax open to enter the verification code. Access your email account from a new browser window.

I worked for Lfty inc and the information they sent me to fill out my taxes is not all there. I keep trying to get in touch with them but they keep saying to get in touch with a tax expert. Can you help me finish filling out my taxes please 🙏
Need my taxes llook at some information was put n wrong by some one
Never got what I was supposed to I went from 6300$ to 1600 an never got our 2nd stimulus eather need my taxes redone to see what happened
How much is on 1040 line 30? That should be only for the Stimulus payment you did not get or if you qualify for more. The second Stimulus is $600 per person including dependents under 17. Maybe the IRS thinks they already sent it to you.
Hi,
I have mental disabilities and dyslexia that can be difficult at times especially when I have to concentrate on important things such as taxes, fasfa, banking ect.
I received tax forms there were to be put in my filings after I had sent in my 2019/2020 now I'm being told that I must put that's forms in my taxes on top of that I was told I had filed incorrect answers that I missed due to my dyslexia, my anxiety and my ADHD making it hard to go over taxes before sending them. I did receive my refund but I know there's answers I have missed or did not correct before sending both tax years in. What can I do to rectify or amend them
We don't know how or what you filed and what you may have missed. You should take all your copies, tax forms and paperwork to a local accountant or tax place and have them look it over.
Hi,I filled my taxes 04/07/21 online.Three weeks ago received my State chem but when I check my Federal they said that they couldn't find me.That I have to contact you.I would appreciate your help.Romina Cordoba
You are not alone. Millions are still waiting. Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.

Since you received the state tax refund then the IRS received your e-filed federal tax return. The state return could not have been e-filed and accepted by the state if the federal return was not also e-filed and accepted by the IRS.
When using the IRS federal tax refund status website make sure you are entering exactly the Social Security number, Filing Status and the whole dollar amount of the federal tax refund as shown on your federal tax return Form 1040.
If the information you have entered is correct and the IRS website does not recognize you the the IRS has not yet started to process your 2020 federal tax return.
Federal tax returns are taking months for the IRS to process.
The IRS is seriously behind in processing 2020 tax returns. This is due to many factors, such as the pandemic, completing processing of millions of 2019 tax returns, stimulus payments, unemployment compensation exclusion tax refunds., changes in the tax code by Congress in the middle of the 2020 tax season and the like.
Millions of taxpayers have not yet received there federal tax refunds.

The IRS is opening mail within normal timeframes and all paper and electronic individual returns received prior to April 2021 have been processed if the return had no errors or did not require further review. As of September 18, 2021, we had 7.8 million unprocessed individual returns. Unprocessed individual returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund and in some cases this work could take 90 to 120 days.
What you should do: In most instances, no further action is needed but you may check Where’s my refund or you can view your account. If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
