@Paul9887 "accepted" simply means the IRS acknowledges receipt of the tax return. it does not mean they have reviewed or approved the refund. Have you checked the status of the tax return?
Yes they said I received my refund but I have not. They said they sent it to my bank on 27 April 2022 for direct depoisit.. I checked to make sure the routing number is correct. They sent me this information on Tuesday 28 June 2022
I already filed form 3911 and mailed it on 7 July 2022. But have not heard anything
@Paul9887 Who is "they"? Did the IRS tell you they sent your refund? Were you having the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund?
@Paul9887 then nothing you can do is wait..... did you sent it traceable so you know the IRS has it?
No I paid $54 for using TurboTax Deluxe and $39 for processing fees for a total $93. On April 14 2022
I sent it regular mail to the IRS address they said to use on the form
I have tried to call the IRS and TurboTax but never been able to talk to a living breathing body 🙃
If you used the Processing Service then your refund went through the 3rd party bank, SBTPG. Maybe your refund is hung up there. It might have been put on a Green Dot money card. I'm not sure how that works. But there are lots of posts and complaints about refunds being held up at SBTPG.
I didn't think I went through a third party. I thought I was paying for using TurboTax and for them to process my taxes to the IRS.
how did you pay your fees to Turbo Tax?
1) if you paid with a credit card/ debit card, then the refund would go from, the IRS directly to you Bank
2) if you requested that the fees be netted out of the refund (and you pay an addition fee for this service), then IRS sends the refund to Green Dot Bank / SPTPG where they take out the fees due to Turbo Tax and THEN they pass on the remaining refund to your Bank.
in neither case does Turbo Tax get involved with the refund.
What @VolvoGirl is trying to understand is which path did you take? #1 or #2?
Since you mention $39 for processing that is only when you select to have the fees deducted from your refund. That is the only processing fee there is. There is no processing fee if you pay the fee upfront with a credit card. Or did you do a state refund? State could have been $39.
How did you pay the fees? Did you use a credit card? If Turbo Tax took it directly out of your bank account that would have been because the IRS delayed your refund and Turbo Tax couldn't take the fees out in time.
I had it specifically to go through TurboTax to the IRS to have the refund sent to my bank to my knowledge
I paid with a credit card for using TurboTax and they said I owed $39 to process my taxes. I assumed that was to TurboTax. If not how do I get ahold of who ever has the refund if it was not processed directly
That doesn't answer anything for us. Of course your tax return goes from Turbo Tax to the IRS and you get the refund in your bank account. But it's how you paid the fees we are trying to figure out.
Download your tax return as a pdf file and see if there is an agreement saying to deduct the fees from your refund.
We were typing at the same time. So you paid 54+39 with a credit card? As I said there is no processing fee when you pay with a credit card. Efiling is free and included in the fee for Deluxe. Did you do a state return?
One thing we haven't asked is did you use the Online version or buy the Desktop CD/Download program?
On line version. I never signed any to have my refund sent anywhere besides my bank. I guess I should contact the SBTPG and see if they can tell me anything. Thank you so much for your help and kindness.
@Paul9887 Something about this is confusing and does not seem right. Better check your TurboTax fees. We cannot figure out why you paid $39 if you did not prepare a state return. And ......did you really pay upfront using a credit card when you filed the return or did you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund? The only way SBTPG would be involved is if you chose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund. If you chose that option, then the $39.99 is the refund processing fee.
How can I see my TurboTax fees?
