My amended TurboTax return is stuck on the Federal and State taxes-due payment step (step 2 out of 3) and I cannot proceed through to the next step due to a glitch?

After apparently providing direct debit details and consent successfully I am taken back to the step 2 ‘Start’ prompt of the final 3 steps to file my amended return as if I haven’t started this step yet. Is this happening to anyone else filing an amended federal and Michigan return?

I am still experiencing this issue after clearing cache/cookies, trying multiple browsers, etc. Any further suggestions?

See this TurboTax FAQ for help with amending.

You can e-file your 2022 amended federal tax return, but most states require amendments to be printed and filed by mail.

You can check the status of your amended return here, but allow three weeks after filing for it to show up.

I encountered this as well and the customer service was also unable to help me with multiple wrong answers. I ended up fixing it by switching the payment method to Paper Check from Direct Deposit, and then was able to proceed to step 3.

The people on the phone told me that amendments can't be filed online (not true) and that I need to wait until after the tax deadline to be able to pass this step (also not true).
