i got my state but have yet to get my federal. was just wondering if people have gotten theirs or if this is universal within the state of new york or nationally.
Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I can say with certainty that federal tax refunds are NOT AFFECTED by the fact you are in New York state. The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in the normal time frame: less than 21 days. However, it’s possible that some tax returns may require further review and could take longer.
One of the biggest delays are caused if you claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit. If you included these on your return, the IRS expects the earliest refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by March 1 if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. However, some taxpayers may see their refunds a few days earlier. Check Where's My Refund? for their personalized refund date.
