TurboTax never gets information from the IRS or state when they reduce your refund. Check the IRS site to see how much the refund they issued to you was. And remember that if the third party bank is involved you are having your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund and you get the rest.
I did check with the IRS. My original refund was for $397 and that was confirmed. And I only received $61 from an unknown deposit. I didn’t have any fees because mine were simple
Last year they had a similar issue where this exact thing was happening and those weren’t receiving their whole deposit
If you had no fees there would be no reason to involve the 3rd party bank. That bank is only involved if you used a paid version of the software and then chose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund.

What is Refund Processing Service?
On my IRS2GO app it saying my refund isn’t even scheduled to come til tomorrow.
Also I wasn’t supposed to be charged fee’s, that’s the whole point of me saying this. At the end of my doing my returns it said I can be exempted from the paid thing
Contact the bank to find out what that deposit was for.

How do I get ahold with TurboTax about these fees? I wasn’t supposed to be charged fees!
No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”

You may have had a treasury offset, that is when the Treasury Department has seized a portion of your refund to pay a debt.
Please call the Treasury Offset Program at 800-304-3107 to find out if this is what happened to you.

The same thing just happened to me. I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN. Charging me over $100 for 1040EZ form. OUTRAGEOUS. THIS IS LEGAL ROBBERY. They charged me $ 59.95 for a "software upgrade" in order to send my return electronically. EVERYONE I KNOW WILL HEAR OF THIS SERVICE, AND EVERYONE THAT I CAN REACH "ELECTRONICALLY", AND I WON'T CHARGE THEM ANYTHING TO DO IT.
Taxslayer is $99 now too, and they try to rope you into $75 MORE as you file if you want to pull from ADP or other places automatically. Ridiculous thievery.
You will need to contact TPG for information regarding your refund. They are one who handles your refund if you elect to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Refund Tracker to check on your refund.
where is my taxes federal and state I got $2800 of my federal and nothing of my state with my money
Your taxes with your state are filed completely separately, so they will not be included with the federal and each state is different.
For more information about state returns, please see this TurboTax Help article with links to various states.
I do not know the exact reason that the IRS did not refund the amount that you were expecting to receive, but common reasons that could have resulted in your refund being different than you expected, is that you asked for TurboTax fees to be subtracted out of your federal refund, your refund was changed by the government to correct a calculation error, or to correct a discrepancy between information reported on your return and information reported to them from other sources, or through a refund offset. A refund offset is when an IRS refund is reduced or intercepted to pay off debt, such as past-due child support, outstanding student loans, or unpaid state income tax.
You will always receive a notice in the mail if an adjustment or offset occurs. The notice will include the original tax refund amount and the revised amount. It will also include the agency receiving the offset payment and that agency’s contact information. If you believe you do not owe the debt or you want to dispute the amount taken from your refund, you should contact the agency that received the offset amount.
If you have questions regarding the offset of your federal tax refund or offset of another U.S. government-issued payment, you can call the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) Call Center to obtain agency contact information during customer service hours.

tell me why I was short money from my oroginal refund? i was never told this please explain? I will never use this site again. I want an answer immediatly
TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

I DID MY TAXES ON MY OWN THERE WAS NO FEE TO IT. . WHY WAS THERE FEES TAKEN? 902 DOLLARS IN FEE WHERE IS THE REST OF MY REFUND . I DID NOT ELECTE TO PAY FEES.
@lapjfhpqn If your refund was reduced by the IRS they will send you a letter to explain. The letters take a couple of weeks to arrive---after you have received the reduced refund that confuses you. Sorry. You can also check the IRS refund site to see if there is any message there about the reduced refund.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
There can be a number of reasons why your refund was less than the amount you expected. First of all, look carefully at your actual tax returns. There is sometimes confusion about the amount of refund to expect when users misinterpret the “summary” they saw in TurboTax. The amount of your refund is on your tax return. Federal refund is on line 35a on Form 1040 State tax forms are all different so we cannot tell you what line to look at on your state form. BUT it is important to actually LOOK at your tax return forms yourself and see the amounts of your tax refunds and/or tax due. A lot of confusion would be avoided by doing that.
Be aware also that your Federal refund and state refund do NOT come together. Federal and state tax returns are processed by two completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come first,
It is also possible that your state reduced your refund for debts owed in your state—if the state reduced your state refund you will receive a letter from the state.

So I started to use Turbo tax and then I was prompted to upgrade and would have to pay. My taxes are simple. I cleared the info closed the window and went to E-file and did my taxes through them and filed them through E-file. No fees. The day before IRS tracker has my refund scheduled to be deposited I have a deposit in my account but it was $67 less. I was puzzled. I never used turbo tax or any company for an early refund or one that was gonna charge me. How the hell did that Santa Barbara company even get involved and approval!! This is bull**bleep**! It’s only $67 but it’s the principle of it all. Very crooked!
I just had the same happen to me. Refund was 11,065. Fees were 861.00 which I agreed too. 10,203 was supposed to be deposited but only 607.85 was deposited to me this morning. Today is 21 Feb 2024 and it says my refund is to be released 22 Feb 2024. So I’m going to call my bank and maybe they did not disperse the remaining until tomorrow? Did you get your issue resolved?
TurboTax charged me $168 for processing and fees which I understand but when it went to the Santa Barbara Bank or whatever it is they also charged me a processing fee of $148 how do I get at least the hundred back because if they only charge $40 for processing fee they owe me $100 I'm not going to pay tax preparations twice
