I spoke with the IRS they sent the refund over to TPG on Feb. 16th and I can't even get ahold of a real person. This is very frustrating I have contacted turbo many times and they are no help.
normally this would only happen if you had a bad a/c or routing number. the TPG rejects the refund. it's sent back to the iRS to process a paper check.
call the IRS and ask how to get a replacement refund.
I have checked many times the IRS sent the deposit in the 16th when I spoke with them they said it should only take two days to process. They gave me the account number and routing and they confirmed that it hasn't been sent back, I spoke with the IRS yesterday. It's been 9 days since my refund was sent and nothing.
Have you received it yet? I am in the same boat. My tax return was issued on the 24th. TPG still shows not receiving anything.
No but they finally emailed me and said they where fixing it. They messed up and made everybody two accounts for some reason. Apparently it should be fixed by the end of this week 🙂
I have yet to hear from TPG. I opened a claim. I have called turbo tax everyday and everyday I am told something different. Let us know when you get your return!
My TPG status says it was funded 2/23 and I will receive a direct deposit within 2 business days, still nothing. Called TPG yesterday, waited 3 hours for a call back, then was told it was mailed not deposited. I asked when the check had been mailed, and they confirmed it hasn't, and "they are having trouble with the checks being sent to everyone, not just me" they also let me know they have no idea when this will be fixed, so basically they had no idea when refund will be mailed. Not sure why after all these years using TurboTax everything went sideways this year but still have no answers despite trying since 2/23
What phone number did you use? I would love to have someone call me back.
Once the IRS Where’s My Refund? site shows your refund has been sent, it generally takes Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG), who administers the "refund processing service" for Intuit, 1 to 2 business days to process and forward your refund to your financial institution, after it receives them from the IRS.
Then once SBTPG sends the refund to your bank it can take up to 5 business days to post to your account.
If you have not received your refund and it is past the timeframes noted above, you may need to start a tracer by following the instructions in the following IRS link: IRS Refund Trace
It's very hard to explain but I did email them like 20 times and you need to call at 7:00 in the morning on the DOT like literally at 7:00 not 7:01
@Cass0317 thank you for your reply, but SBTPG refund status shows it was funded 2/23, I spoke with SBTPG directly yesterday, they said it will be mailed but has not been due to a system issue with no idea when it would be fixed but confirmed they have the funds, I have submitted help requests starting 2/24 but never received anything other than the automated email that my request was received by them. It's been 5 business days, the bank has never held a deposit without notifying me, and directing people to the IRS to start a trace when it's clear SBTPG has the funds since they admitted they do is just trying to pass the blame. TurboTax contracted with them, I contracted with you, which is why we are all sitting here wondering why you havent fixed it since there are tons of social media groups with this same problem and for some reason it hasn't hit the news cause that's where I'm headed.
This is a public forum and all phone numbers are automatically deleted due to privacy issues. Please see this link on how to contact SBTPG. https://help.sbtpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/230084587-Contact-Information
TurboTax has contracted with a company that steals heard working peoples money in a time that we need it and won’t fess up to knowing what they did and won’t help. I’m sure all there employees got what they deserve and more
Hey did they ever send you your refund??? I’m in the same position where they claimed it was a duplicate account; at this point it looks like fraud on both them and TurboTax end. I recently learned they have been holding refunds to collect interest and TurboTax gets a portion of that money as well. Something illegal is going on
did you get any response I am having several of my clients that have not gotten their refunds and the IRS tell them if was already issued and TPG says they don't have it its affecting my business I am seriously considering hiring and attorney
