Didn't it download as a pdf file?

How to get a copy after filing

Here's an alternate way to print by opening the filed return back up to print at the Print Center, where you can also get the worksheets.

Log in and at the Tax Home or in the section Your Tax Returns & Documents for 2020, look for a link Add a State.  Click on Add a State.  (you don't really add one.  That's just to open your return back up.)

After the return is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.

Then choose Print, save, view this year's return.

The next screen should offer some options:  Just my tax returns or include government worksheets (optional), or include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)

I went to my state Dept of Rev and printed out the 4 payment slips for my estimated tax.  More trouble than using TurboTax as had to fill in and print each quarter's form separately and there was no built in calculator to help my estimated guess.  I am ot sure how I missed the opportunity to print the est. forms before filing.

There are couple of other things, the cover sheet with some facts about AGI, Tax Paid, etc. that I was able to see when I viewed the forms.  However, I did not print at that time as I thought all would be available to print post filing.  Any hints on how to access everything now.  I tried to download the TurboTaxReturn (6.4MB so presume everything is in there).  Message was:  "Safari cannot open file because no available application can open it."

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Volvo Girl,  Perfect answer.  I used the "Add a State" method and was able to solve all of my prior printing omissions. Thanks, David. PS We drive an XC60

Would you please clarify your question. Did you download the forms and save as a pdf and you can't find them or are you having trouble printing?

To print the state payment vouchers please follow these steps:

  1. Once inside your return, click on Tax Tools > Print Center > Print, save or preview this year's return.
  2. Select 2020 [state] return and Just my tax return(s).
  3. Click the box View or print forms.
  4. A PDF screen will appear with all your tax documents.  The vouchers should be in the beginning of the file.
  5. Click the Print icon in the top right of your screen and select the pages you want to print.

If you don't see the payment vouchers in the PDF file, you will have to go through your state interview again.

  1. On the screen Your 2020 [state] taxes are ready for us to check, click the Edit box next to Other Situations.
  2. Click the box next to Estimated and Local Income Tax.
  3. On the screen, Estimated Taxes for 2021? click the Yes box.
  4. Continue through the screens, entering the requested information.

from your instructions, i never see "other situations" -- as you suggested i went back trough the state return and still no "other situations" -- any other ideas?

Other Tax Situations is at the top of the screen.

Here is a picture to help you find it and the line for estimated taxes.

I just e-filed my 2020 taxes and saved and printed the PDFs.

My state estimated tax vouchers did not print correctly.

I need my Kentucky estimated tax vouchers, but in the PDF and printed copy they run off the bottom

of the page. I can see the complete forms in my Turbotax software (I downloaded it and am running it on my Mac) but I cannot figure out how to print the actual 740-ES forms, filled in with the information, on my local printer.  Help!

I got the blank forms from my state tax website and can hand write in the info, but this seems counterproductive.

The other instructions in this thread don't make sense for me. perhaps they are for folks using the online version of Turbotax?

Please see the link below to help with printing from your MAC.  The instructions are to print your tax return to file but as long as you have e-filed, you should be able to follow the same instructions to print out your vouchers.

Printing with a MAC

I did save PDF and print my forms when I e-filed. The state vouchers printed incorrectly, running off the bottom of the page.

I also tried File>Print>Selected forms and selected only the 740-es forms

From what I see before I print, they too will run off the bottom of the page (only the top half of each form is visible at the bottom of a page).

So the problem is not how to print them, but that they won't print correctly for me!

Hi Bethtip,

Have your tried to change the scale on the print box screen?  My scale usually comes up 100% but sometimes it comes up 75%.  A smaller percentage may solve the runoff problem.

Also my state allows me to enter my data on the quarterly estimate forms and then prints them with everything filled in. However, I had to enter each quarter individually...one would think the state would make it easy for anyone to pay them.  At least, the federal sends me the proper forms annually.

The problem was solved by the one-on-one help.

The issue was that printing or PDF generation on my Mac from Turbotax cut off the bottom

of the Kentucky estimated tax vouchers.

I did not have Adobe Acrobat reader on this Mac. Used other software for reading PDFs.

The solution was: Install Adobe Acrobat Reader, then close TurboTax and reopen it, and

reprint the tax forms.  The PDF and the print both are correct now.

I can see the entire tax vouchers and print them.

So, TurboTax must use some of the Adobe software when it's generating the Kentucky

740-ES forms in order to render them correctly.
