Did you already pay for it?
Or are you asking how to remove it from your order prior to paying and filing?
Are you a California filer or a non-California filer?
I paid but didn't file, computer crashed had to do taxes again. non California.
You appear to be using desktop software. Did you pay for the Audit Defense by credit/debit card, and did the transaction go through before it crashed? Or did you choose to pay your fees out of the Federal refund (which has an additional 39.99 service fee; 44.99 for California filers?)
paid via cc. yes got email confirmation. but there is no way to enter once I redid my return. asks me to pay again. so I just want to cancel.
I'm asking how to remove my TaxAudit Membership, so that I won't be charged again this year.

You're posting in an old thread from last year started by a user using the desktop software. You haven't said what product you are using.
Audit Defense is optional each year, specific for the one tax year, and not automatically renewed from year to year. People who want Audit Defense have to actively choose it each year, with the exception I mention in the next paragraph. In Online TurboTax Audit Defense is part of the MAX bundle (or PLUS).
However, in California, Audit Defense is automatically added if someone chooses to pay their TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund. In California that is called "Premium Services." If someone in California doesn't want that bundled Audit Defense but chose to pay out of the Federal return, then they have to remove that option to "pay out of refund" (Premium Services) and pay their fees upfront with credit/debit card.
What is your story? Did you sign up for Audit Defense in your 2019 return and need to know how to remove it prior to filing? And what product are you using? Are you in California?
I do not want TaxAudit and was shocked when I received an email saying I was signed up. What do I do?
The email was sent to [email address removed] and the account number is <removed>

You didn't say anything about your situation, so I'll have to guess.
Are you a California filer, and did you choose to pay any TurboTax product fees out of your Federal refund? If so, then in order to be able to pay out of your refund, California filers receive "Premium Services" for 44.99.
Here is a FAQ that describes what all is included in "Premium Services" bundle in Online TurboTax, which I assume should be similar in the desktop product.
If you need to discuss any product billing issues, you'd need to phone TurboTax Support.

I never purchased Audit Defense so why am I unable to remove to file my taxes. Why am I being charged for something I did not request?

You didn't say if you are using Online TurboTax or desktop software (CD/download). So I'll take a guess. This answer assumes you are using desktop software and want to remove Audit Defense (the topic of this thread.) You can go to the screen in the image below to cancel Audit Defense.
Click on the REVIEW tab, then go to the Audit Protection subtab. Go past the Audit Risk Meter until you get to the screen below where it can be removed.
.
.
Also be aware that if you are using desktop software (CD/download) and efiling a state return, there is a 24.99 state efile fee. You will save money if you pay that 24.99 fee upfront by credit/debit card. If you choose to pay that state efile fee out of your Federal refund, there is an additional $40 service fee for that payment option ($45 for California filers.) There is no fee to print and mail the state return.

This is an old thread with multiple users going back more than 2 years. It transferred into this new forum from the old community forum a couple of years ago. You've posted up high in the thread in response to an old comment.
Did you already pay for Audit Defense and want to cancel Audit Defense after the fact? If so, I believe there is a 30-day window to do so. Or are you trying to remove it prior to paying by credit card?
If you already paid for it and don't want it, phone TurboTax Support first.

In the issue line say billing issue without quotes.
I don't know if they will handle the refund or whether they will send you to the Audit Defense folks at
The folks at intuit.taxaudit.com offer that product cheaper than TurboTax, so they might not refund you the full amount that TurboTax charged. So that's why I said talk to TurboTax Support first.
I agreed to pay with refund. However I don't plan to submit my return by email. Instead I need to submit it by mail. I want to cancel the method of payment for the tax audit support to by credit card or PayPal.
I haven't paid. From California. Plan to submit Report by mail, not internet. Originally agreed to pay with rebate, but that is only allowed with e-submitted returns.
