E-File snafu

I have completed my 2021 Tax Year return. I E-filed like I do every year. The Fed rejects the filing. I have tried 4 times. Turbotax suggests I did not use the correct AGI. I checked my 2020 tax year return. I also got on IRS.gov and checked what they have in my account records. My filing and their records all agree with the AGI I am reporting with my E-filing. The AGI is not the problem. Does anyone have a suggestion what else the problem could be and a fix? Turbotax has not been any help. I know I can just mail my returns, but I do not want to do that and wait for my refund. It is rather large. I want it asap.

Please help if you can.

@bruceless2 The PIN can be any 5 digits and does not need to be the PIN used on the 2020 tax return.  The IRS is looking for the same 2020 AGI on the 2021 tax return as they have in their database.  The IRS database has been known to have missing AGI's and incorrect AGI's.

If you entered the correct 2020 AGI from your 2020 federal tax return that was filed, Form 1040 Line 11, and the IRS rejected the return, then entered a 0 for the 2020 AGI and this is also being rejected your only option is to print and mail the tax return.

It is possible the IRS does not have your 2020 AGI in their database.

Enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the 2021 tax return again.

Thank you DoninGA for the suggestion. I thought it was brilliant. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. My filing was rejected again. Is there any other reason you can think of? Perhaps the pin? Turbotax says "any 5 digits". Does the pin have to match 2020 filing pin? I am not sure what that was.

Thank you again for your help.

Did you receive unemployment income? If so subtract that amount from AGI.

No unemployment income. Did take IRA withdraws. Also made n IRA contribution that was more than allowed by my income. That was corrected later. Turbotax says do not use an amended filing for the AGI.

Continuing the question. ... I just realized that Turbotax is asking for my wife's AGI. We filed a joint return for tax year 2020, as we always have. The same for this tax year, 2021. Why does the TT application call for her AGI as if it were two different AGIs in the filing? It is a joint return. Is there a line on the 1040 where I can find an AGI that applies only to her income?

Thank you.

Thank you for the response.

1. Already did the "0" trick. No help.

2. We filed jointly this year and last year and every year for the last 40 years.

3. The AGI reported with this year's filing is correct as per our 2020 filing and the transcript on IRS.gov.

4. The Turbo Tax Application instructs to report (with the e-filing) my wife's AGI. 2020 and 2021 filings (as stated previously) are joint returns. We jointly have an AGI, neither of us has an AGI separately from the other.

5. I believe the problem is not with my information or the IRS. I believe the problem is a glitch in the Turbotax app. How else can you explain the app asking for one person's AGI, on a joint return?

6. Please read the previous messages in this string before responding.
