My 2021 Refund has been accepted by the IRS May 2022, but I have yet to receive my federal refund. The State was received and I've already paid what was owed. Should I amend my refund?
@NatMari you use the word 'accept'. that simply means the IRS acknowledged receipt of your tax return; it does not mean it was reviewed, processed or audited.
have you checked the WMR tool at the IRS website for status? I'd start there.
No do not amend. Amending is a special process you use if the return has been fully processed but had a mistake or missing information. Your return has not been fully processed. What would you change on it? Amending would not speed up the IRS--in fact it would lead to confusion and further delay.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
