If you are needing to make a correction, you will need to wait until your e-file is Accepted and then you will Amend your return.  To do this, please review the FAQ here.

I made a mistake on the stimulus payment amount. My husband reminded me we did receive 2400.00 for the first payment. Then we also received 1200.00 dollars for the second stimulus check. I looked it up on my bank account and I need to change the figures.  Thank you, Cheryl M. Hanna

You may have to file amended return to remove the Recovery Rebate Credit.  However, if you have filed your return and the IRS has accepted it, WAIT until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  There is a chance that the IRS will adjust your refund.  If they don't, THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and mail it in.

IMPORTANT:  Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed.

Please see the instructions contained in these TurboTax articles to amend your return:
