Why am I receiving a message indicating that my transmission didn't go through?

Did you receive this message when you tried to e-file or when you tried to upload financial transactions?

Thank you for your question. I did not have anything to upload. I had already added my 1095A which was received after I filed.

If you are saying your return rejected, in other words has not been accepted by the IRS, then you should review the Form 1095-A section to be sure you have entered all the correct information from this form received after you filed.

If your return was accepted, you should still review your form with the information you put in your tax return. If it does not match you may need to amend your return.

The return was accepted by the IRS and a refund was received. I have now received my 1095A which I need to add to the return which is why I am attempting to amend it. I have completed all the suggested troubleshooting and I am still receiving messages that the amended tax return submission did not transmit.

Can you clarify if you are using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop?

Be sure you are using all the guidelines below and within the instruction links.  If you are amending a prior year return, it will need to be filed by mail.

  • You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
  • You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
  • Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
  • The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
  • Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.
  • You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment

Select your product below and follow the instructions.
