Do you know of turbo tax helps you fill out your amended return? I know i have to mail it back it. I filed last week and then recieved abother w2. When i added the new w2 to turbo tax it made my refund almost double. I understand that i will get the original refund back first and then i need to do the amendment. So when i am able to ckick on the year 2019 amendment which isn't available yet, will turbo tax do all the work for me and then something as simple as just printing out and mailing in?

Yes, TurboTax provides help in filing an amended tax return.

This link How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed has directions on how to file an amended tax return.

The amend process for 2019 in Online TurboTax will not be available until February 20 when the Form 1040X is projected to become available.    That projected date is subject to change in either direction.

In the meantime, do NOT make any changes in you return until you are guided to do so by the amend process.

You will be able to amend as soon as Form 1040X becomes available.  At this time the expected date of availability for the form 1040X is

02/20/2020 , however that date is subject to change.  You can track it's availability by going to the following link.

An amended tax return, Form 1040X, can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS, it cannot be e-filed. The IRS will take up to 4 months to process the amended tax return. Wait until you have received the tax refund or the taxes owed have been paid and processed by the IRS before amending the tax return.

On the Tax Home web page when the Form 1040X for amending a 2019 tax return becomes available there will be a link - Amend (change) return

Form 1040X is estimated to be available on 02/27/2020

I used TTax 1040X last night to add an IRA Rollover from my wife's 401K.  I was never prompted by TTax software to input to which institution did the 1099R withdrawal get deposited.  When I printed my amended TTax return out, there was no entry indicting the IRA Rollover transacton.

What's up?

It depends.  If your 1099R shows a Code "G" in Box 7 there really is no need to amend the tax return since there will not be any change in taxes owed.

Just please be sure to maintain a copy of your 1099R just in case the IRS asks for additional information regarding the rollover.
