Will TurboTax accept an ITIN instead of a Social Security number?

SOLVEDby TurboTax232Updated January 19, 2022

Yes. When prompted for your Social Security number, simply enter your ITIN instead.

Because it's in the same 9-digit format as a Social Security number, you'll be able to enter it without any problems.

Please note that taxpayers with ITINs are not eligible to receive stimulus payments unless they're filing a joint return, one spouse has a Social Security number, and at least one spouse was in the U.S. military during the tax year.
