I got a CP01A notice from the IRS

SOLVEDby TurboTax97Updated December 31, 2021

If you got a notice from the IRS, don’t worry. We’ll do our best to help you figure out what to do next.

The notice tells you about the 6-digit Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) and includes instructions on how to use it. This PIN is to help prevent the misuse of your Social Security number.

We will ask for the IP PIN when you prepare your tax return.

You can obtain more detailed information about the IP PIN from the IRS.
