If you receive Illinois e-file reject IL1040-8000-2 or IL1040-9900-2, it means you need to review and correct your or the secondary taxpayer's signature requirements.
If the signature info you entered on your Illinois e-file agreement doesn't match what's on file with the Illinois Department of Revenue, your return will be rejected with one of these errors:
- IL1040-8000-2: Review and correct your signature requirements. At least one of the following signature fields must be present and valid on the Dept. of Revenue's file: Primary Signature, IL Shared Secrets, IL PIN, Prior Year AGI, Driver's License, or State ID Number or Zip Code.
- IL1040-9900-2: Review and correct the secondary taxpayer's signature requirements. At least one of the following signature fields must be present and valid on the Dept. of Revenue's file: Primary Signature, IL Shared Secrets, IL PIN, Prior Year AGI, Driver's License, or State ID Number or Zip Code.
