What is auto-import?

by TurboTax21 Updated 3 weeks ago

Auto-import is a feature you can turn on for some financial institutions that lets TurboTax automatically import your tax forms as soon as they’re ready. We’ll send you an email once we’ve imported the forms for you.

You can sign up for auto-import when you connect to a financial institution inside of TurboTax.

Turn auto-import on or off

You can keep auto-import turned on for all future tax seasons, leaving one less thing for you to remember next year.

To manage your auto-import settings:

  1. Go to Tax Home.
  2. Select Documents from the left menu.
  3. Choose Linked Accounts
  4. You can connect to your financial institutions here. Once connected, you can select an institution and see a switch for auto-imports, if available.

Auto-import security

Connecting your financial account to TurboTax lets us import tax info directly into your tax return. It doesn't enable any movement of funds or assets.

Our encryption technology protects your personal and financial info, which helps prevent unauthorized access as we transfer your info to your tax return.

We’ll securely store your financial account’s sign-in details and automatically import your tax forms. Learn more about our security practices.
