Auto-import allows TurboTax to import your tax forms as soon as they’re ready. This feature is available for select payroll and financial institutions. We’ll email you after we import the forms, so you can review them when you log back into TurboTax.
You may choose to sign up for auto-import in TurboTax when you import from a payroll or financial institution.
When to update auto-import
Auto-import lets you set it and forget it, so your tax information is automatically pulled into TurboTax and ready at filing time. From time to time, you may want to update it to match your filing needs. For example, if your filing status changes or you don’t want certain forms imported anymore, you may want to turn off auto-import before the end of the year.
How to turn auto-import on or off
To manage auto-import and connected accounts, visit TurboTax online from a web browser:
Go to Tax Home.
Select Documents from the left menu.
Choose Linked Accounts.
Select an institution to see a toggle for Auto-Imports, if available.
From here you can choose to unlink your account by clicking on the three dot icon to the right of each provider or disable auto-import via the toggle.
