What is Full Audit Representation?

Audits by the IRS can be random. Confidently handle an audit by the IRS with a representative who will represent you and communicate with the IRS on your behalf. 

TurboTax®, in partnership with TaxAudit, will take care of everything for as long as your return can be audited, including:

  • Developing a plan of action
  • Following up with the IRS
  • Preparing IRS documents for you
  • Representing you in all IRS meetings

Full Audit Representation is part of MAX Benefits.

Select your product below for instructions to purchase Full Audit Representation.

  1. With your return open, select Review from the left menu.
  2. Continue until you see the option to purchase MAX Benefits or PLUS Help and Support.
  3. Select Add MAX benefits or Add PLUS benefits and proceed. We'll add the MAX or PLUS fees (which includes Full Audit Representation) to your final tax prep bill, which you'll pay before you print or e-file your return.
  1. With your return open, click the Review tab, then Audit Protection below it.
  2. Select Continue on the Full Audit Representation (Audit Defense) offer screen and follow the instructions to purchase (via credit card or deduct from your refund).
