Will my bank draft go through that I set up in TurboTax even though my efile return was rejected and I will have to mail it?

My tax return that I efiled was rejected by the IRS.  Will the eft that I set up in TurboTax still go through?

No.  If your tax return was rejected then it did not go to the IRS.   The IRS does not have any information from you.   Nothing you have entered for that tax return, including any payment information, has been transmitted.

You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.

Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed.  Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead. What is the rejection code or rejection message?

If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Thank you for your help!  The return was rejected because of the AGI not matching.  I put in $0 and it was accepted.  I had seen that solution before, but was hesitant to use it.  You were very clear in answering my question and I really appreciate it.  Thank you again.
