I have the online file saved to computer. When I start desktop it appears to be downloading all information to the desktop version. However, It has me starting off all over from the beginning as though I'm starting a new return. All the basic informatio is requested again.
Don't choose to start a new tax return if you are trying to open a current year's tax file. Make sure you have the tax file (not the PDF file) saved to your computer. Then from the File menu up top, select Open Tax Return. If you have the tax file saved to your computer, you should see it on the ''Continue Your 2019 Tax Return'' screen. Use the Continue button under the file your saved from your Online acct to open your return. If you don't see it on the list, you may need to click on Find a Tax File and direct TurboTax to the location you saved the file to.
