It does not work! So frustrating. Terrible terrible Product and Design decision. Product Manager and Designer should be really questioned for this terrible decision.
Click < or > to get the refund monitor to appear. You might also have to toggle off that “race mode” or click Review.
No, there is no < or > visible in the UI. Clicking review does not show the running total. These solutions are not working.
Same problem. I want to see what my bill or refund is at some point. Will I ever have a chance to see before I have to choose whether to file? Let's hope so.
@lilli2 Click "Review" to get the refund monitor to appear.
NO. This does not work. I wonder if Intuit is A/B testing users where half the visitors see this solution and other half do not.
Try clearing your cache and cookies first @letsgettaxesdoneok. Then log back in and click 'Review' to see the refund monitor or the '< >' as others have suggested.
None of the options work. Tried multiple browsers as well. First time logging in, no cache to be cleared.
See attached photos.
Have tried running Federal Review and end Review. No change.
Somethin' ain't raht....
What happens when you toggle on the Your Progress button at the top of your screenshot? Above that, you should be able to turn the refund meter on and off.
Had uploaded two photos, don't know why this one isn't showing in the first post. Let me know if it doesn't again.
Hello? Bueler? What did it suddenly go quiet here? There are good questions with good information and good evidence.
I would guess it is a screen resolution issue. I'm guessing it is up there if you could scroll up or shrink your screen to fit.
Nope, that is the very top, window is maximized. Screen is 1080.
Yes, the running total doesn't appear until you put in all of your income and Review the return. This is a change this year.
The reason for this change is that people would call and ask why their refund would drop when you put in more income, or why it didn't increase with every deduction entered.
If you want to see the refund so far after every item is entered, you can enter one income item and then skip to Review. The refund will show up and you can watch it go up and down as you complete your return.
Thank you for a valid and thorough response @JulieS
However... I do have one W2 completed, and I did go to review... After I finished the W2 it even gave me the update in the regular middle screen to show what may current refund would be at the moment.
After trouble shooting, I did both review sections, but still nada.
Thoughts?
Thank you,
JR
It was the "Federal Review" that I had to do before the running total showed up, not the "Review" at the end.
this is what i did.click review, then it will open the tools on the left side.click tool, then tax summary.it will show everything.not convenience anymore
Yeah, I've finished all of my income and interest etc, went through the entire federal review, went through the entire final review, and it still doesn't show up. Just the speed racer toggle button on/off (doesn't change if the amount shows up), and no carrot/arrow that displays/undisplays.
I think I concur with one of the users that there is an A/B experiment sampling going on.
I agree with the other users who cannot see the running tax obligation at the top of the screen. This is frustrating and a terrible choice for TT to eliminate. For a user to be able to visualize their tax responsibility is essential because often we're making mistakes and don't realize it until we see the number going up or down. This is my eighth year using TurboTax and it's time to move on to another product.
SOLUTION: although not really. Hit the TOOLS button on the left of the screen and when the box pops up, hit View Tax Summary on the list. This will show you your bottom line.
"Yes, the running total doesn't appear until you put in all of your income and Review the return. This is a change this year. "
Nope, this still doesn't work. I tried multiple browsers. There is no option that shows up to see the running total. And on Microsoft edge I wasn't even getting the links to the left with '2023 taxes, my info, federal, etc'. It only the 'tax home' page with big bubble options. Super annoying!
