Why is turbotax making me re-enter all my personal information? It has that from last year?

I used Turbotax online in 2019 and 2020. I have logged in to start work on 2021, and Turbotax is making me re-enter all my personal information. Why?

You have to be in exactly the same account with the same user ID in order to transfer 2020 to 2021---are you in the same account?

According to my screen, you are using the Online version of TurboTax. Did you use the online version last year. Did you log in this year using the same exact credentials you used last year?  Maybe you deleted your tax return from your online account last year?

In order to import data from your 2020 return into your 2021 tax return, you must log in using the same exact credentials you used last year. Additionally, last year's tax return must be in that account in order to import the data from it. If you deleted the 2020 tax return, then you have to re-enter everything from scratch again.

Yes, I am in exactly the same account. When I go to the main Intuit account page, it clearly shows them-- see screenshot below. But when I go to Turbotax, everything is empty-- no personal information, no prior work history, etc.

Check for another account if you are not asked to verify last year's info when you log in ...

How many Intuit Accounts do I have with TurboTax?

Here's how to view a list of your Intuit accounts:

  1. First, sign out of your account (otherwise, you'll be thrown into a loop in step 2).
  2. Go to our Let's get you signed in page.
  3. Enter your email address, phone number, or user ID.
  4. We'll send a code to either your email address or your phone. Enter the code we've sent you.
  5. We'll show you a list of your accounts. Select the one you want to sign in to.

If you have multiple TurboTax accounts, pick one and stick with it when you do future tax returns. That way we can automatically transfer your tax info over year after year. It also makes accessing your prior-year returns much easier.

Just did that. It asked me a bunch of questions about my past, and then had me reset my password. Did that.

Here's what it shows when I go to Turbotax:
