Why is it saying some forms are not ready,when it says ready to file state

Not all Federal & State forms have been finalized yet.  If it is saying you need to wait for the forms to became available, then you will not be able to e-file until the forms are finalized.

On the turbo tax website it said Schedule E forms are available for both e-file and mail in. When I go to file it says they aren’t ready. Am I doing something wrong?

You are correct that Schedule E is ready for filing.  Since we can't see your return in this forum, try these fixes below to complete your Efiling. 

 

If you're using TurboTax Online, try clearing your Cache and Cookies and Efiling again. 

 

If using TurboTax Desktop, click this link for info on Manually Updating TurboTax.

I've been with TurboTax for 5 years. If it's going to be like this where its mid March and TurboTax don't have forms available, then this might be the last time I'm using TurboTax. Don't make sense to me.

The forms are sent from the IRS and State once they are completed and available. If you find your forms are available here then you may just need to perform a manual update so you can submit your return.

If you're using TurboTax Online, try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then resubmit your e-file.

 

If using TurboTax Desktop, click here Manually Updating TurboTax to process an update for the forms to update that are now available.
