Why has turbo tax not uploaded form 4562 in the desktop version for 2021? When will it be ready? IRS guidelines were published Dec 13, 2021

Form 4562 is currently showing available for Turbo Tax Online. You can view the forms availability schedule here

When i try to complete my return using the 'Desktop' product (not online), there are several forms that Turbotax has not updated/ready for use. These are detailed by TurboTax as

Form 1116

Form 3801

Form 8829

I am also unable to add new assets within an existing property.

I have checked for updates several times. Does anyone know when forms will be available?

You can track the availability of the forms you need for TurboTax Desktop here:

Also, ensure you keep your TurboTax Desktop version up to date.  To check for updates on a PC, open TurboTax and select Check for Updates from the Online menu near the top. On a Mac, simply quit and reopen TurboTax. If there are any updates, you'll be prompted to download them.

I just contacted customer service and was told form 4562 is available and was given a link to resolve my issue (not having Form 4562 available on my Turbo Tax).  Link was useless as it only gave me a list of available forms but did not help me getting the form into Turbo Tax. Also texted TurboTax and got other useless links and then I received an e-mail saying my isue had been resolved. I now cannot complete my taxes with TurboTax. I give up.

After 12 years or more of using TurboTax I am changing to another Tax preparation software. Totally disappointed with TurboTax.

It may take longer for one form or another to show up in TurboTax for multiple reasons. Our goal is to provide you with the most accurate information possible. As part of this process, we communicate often with the taxing agencies.

For up-to-date status, refer your customer to the federal and state forms-availability articles.

If the form becomes available sooner than currently published on that Help Article, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.

This is a problem. I spent over 2 1/2 hours on support being bounced from one escalation expert to the next on this issue of not ready for depreciation calculations, with no one able to give me a straight answer.  (Each agent implied that I was being transferred up another tier of experts as I slogged along.  The final expert told me there was no difference, everyone I spoke to was the same level of incompetence).  Intuit wanted to ask me if I found the session helpful?  2 1/2 hours for nothing.

 

IRS says form is ready to use.  What is the problem TurboTax?  Please communicate a reply with a factual and helpful answer.  When can I finish my taxes?  Thank you.

YES - Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization is available.   There must be another issue but let's try to clear your history, cookies and cache'.  Sometimes you are caught in a loop because of so many hours of entering information etc.  

 

Follow the steps below to clear your History:

 

Cookies are small files that temporarily store data on your computer. We use them to personalize your experience so you see information you already entered and not items that are irrelevant or repetitive.

On rare occasions, they may make your browser think you already did something that you still need to do. To fix that, you'll need to delete (clear) the cookies from your browser.

Each browser has a slightly different method for deleting cookies. Choose the browser you're using:

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have checked my Chrome Cookies & Site Data and have found these sites that use an intuit url.  Which of these should be cleared?

 

accounts-tax.intuit.com

idfedprdpf.intuit.com

intuit.com – 36 cookies

pf.intuit.com

shcontentservice.api.intuit.com

ttlc.intuit.com - 13 cookies

 

I do not usually use any other browser than Chrome.  Does Intuit use any browsers without my involvement?

I also use other software by Intuit.

Which of the above sites should I delete for this Turbo Tax problem?

Please clear the cache on all of those listed. 

 

Turbo Tax does not use any other browser without your knowledge. @cbmac

Did as you suggested - deleted all Chrome Intuit sites, cleared cache.  Closed all apps, restarted Windows.

Started Turbo Tax continue with existing file.  TT did not check for updates, when check done manually TT "up to date".  TT opened current file to the same "Depreciation and Amortization under construction" page as before.

This issue has been identified by our tech support and will be addressed in a future update. We don't know when that update will be released. But having the focus of the tech team is a positive step toward resolving the issue. If we see a support article released with a potential work-around, we'll post that link here.

Two more weeks without repair of this software fault.  Just a couple of weeks until filing deadline.  I have seen only one TT update since our last communication.  No update today again.  I need this fixed.  why isn't it?
