Why doesn't TurboTax attempt to download my W2 from the IRS?

My employer had not uploaded W2s to the IRS when I started my return, but now they have. However, TurboTax no longer shows me the option to download a W2 from the IRS. Why not?

You never download a W-2 from the IRS.  Your employer sends it to a data warehouse that Turbotax and other tax prep companies subscribe to.  You probably have a blank or partial W-2 in your return that can't be substituted with a downloaded one.

If you go back to the beginning of the W-2 interview and click "I have another W-2" it should open the download again, and you download your W-2 as a new one.  The delete the blank or partial W-2.

Turbo Tax is not giving me the option to Download the W2 information.  I am running the local (CD installed) version.  When I get to W2 it only has review or step by step but doesn't give the option to download

Can you clarify the issue? Are you trying to import your W-2 into Turbo Tax?

Yes... I am starting to do a return, get to Wages section, and to W2's.  It is forcing me to enter all of the information manually.  It never gives the option to Download.

I have the same issue with the on-line version
there is no longer an option to download/import w2 from employer

going back to the beginning of the W-2 interview and click "I have another W-2", does not give the option
