Why does turbo tell me to wait early April to file my taxes? It keeps telling me we’ll contact you when it’s time to file but then I receive emails saying to finish&file

This is for state tax. I ready to submit for both federal and state but it keeps telling me to wait.

There are certain things in the federal returns that are waiting on IRS before they can be completed.  You must have one or more of them in your return.

There are also forms that have not yet been approved by IRS for paper filing and e-filing.

The message in your return should tell you what you are waiting for.

Please refer to the following TurboTax link for the software version you are using for the expected availability dates for certain federal forms:

Here is the TurboTax Expected Availability state forms list  for your state:

Hi. It allows me to submit for federal. It’s making me wait for state. At first it said something about the new act that just passed a few weeks ago. But I’m not sure exactly what. Now it just says well let you know when it’s time. I can file federal but not state.

It could be that your state may be changing some of it's tax code to comply with some of the new federal tax changes in the American Pension Plan Act.  Some of the states are slow to make determinations of their handling of IRS changes that just came out this month.

It also may be that your state has a form that is being changed and is not yet available to be filed.

Hi,

I keep getting a message that TT is waiting on guidance about the new rules signed into law in March and that I should wait to file. That hopefully all will be fixed by the end of April.  At the same time, TT blogs say everything is up to date and ready. I get emails telling me to "file now!", but they do not address the updates. When I go in and try to file again, I get the same message telling me to wait. What should I do? (We had about $3K in unemployment last year and an ACA with APTC, so not sure if one or both of these is holding us up or if this is an old message that someone has neglected to remove from the software)

Thanks

I'm having same issue as AH41: The Review summary screen says "Your new tax break might affect how you file."  Below that is says "Here's what you can do:   Wait to file while we work to make updates.... We expect to have everything updated by end of April at the latest."

I use TTax Deluxe Windows download (i.e. not web) so advice from @CatinaT1  to clear cache & cookies didn't help.

TTax updated when starting on Thursday April 29.  I checked for updates again today May 1st: but TTax says software is up to date.

My component version #s are:

WinPerReleaseMSI [phone number removed]
TurboTax.exe    2020.48.27.84
Product              (download)
Per                      wPerScm.2020.48.27.84
FPS                    4.3.5
AN                      uishrd.2017.01.00.02
TPS                    5.19.3
TTax.dll              2020.48.27.84
S2020US1040PE    2020.123.04
(if you need more components just let me know, but copy/paste doesn't work from the "About TurboTax" window and I'm tired of typing)

Per my IT guy ..that wouldn't help. The question is why isn't TT fixing their issues?
