I got a deposit from TBG, I’ve filed with TurboTax before and I’ve never seen this name come across with my previous despójate. It’s also less than what TurboTax “estimated” for me. What is going on??
Did you request to have the tax prep fees paid from refund? TBG handles that and takes the fee and sends your balance where you wanted it sent. You can contact the IRS or wait for a letter in mail from IRS explaining why the refund is different than you expected.
In this public forum, we do not have access to any information regarding refund processing. It would be necessary to contact TPG for additional information. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.
@MoniqueLO_ I’m confused how they can take this money without our consent? I agreed to the amount of $105 dollars for TURBOTAX to do my taxes not TBG to take a additional $400 for absolutely no reason. If TurboTax doesn’t resolve this I and I’m sure many others won’t ever use TurboTax again.
They stole $1300 from me. Im trying to figure out why. I've used turbo tax my whole life. Ill never in my life use it again after this. Id like to sue if they don't give it back. Maybe a class action law suit. Id never in my life authorize them to take an additional $1300
They took $1368 from me. There is no way my turbo tax fees were that much
You should receive a letter from the IRS telling you why your refund amount was changed. The most common reasons so far this season are: A couple other reasons include
You should look for a letter from the IRS and if you do not have one or do not receive one, you would need to call the IRS at 800-829-1040 as no one else would have the answer as to why your refund was reduced.
They just took almost 2000 of mine... I hope they are ready for a lawsuit along with turbotax
Same happened to me. Missing about 1400 bucks. Will definitely be joining whatever class action lawsuit takes place. Absolute great and scum.
If you received the third stimulus payment in 2021, you should have answered Yes to the question if your received the third stimulus check.
The IRS has the exact amount that you received, you can not claim the recovery rebate credit if you received the third payment. The IRS will adjust your refund.
I have the same question as everyone else who is TBG products and why was I not informed of additional fees. The amount I pay turbo tax intuit and now another vendor. I promise I am going back to using my CPA. I am being charged more by intuit and there vendors. Going back to old fashion way. Advising my entire family to do the same. Everyone just does whatever these days and gets away with it. Very disgruntled intuit.
$5,000 stolen from this company!? I did NOT make a mistake. I'm getting a hold of my local media to look into this. Stealing from middle and lower class tax payers will not fly. Here comes the media! This is a total scam.
Nope. I have documentation to prove my money was stolen.
They scammed me out of $600.00 . This has never happened before and I did not make a mistake either. Total scam!
@Toots6969 - if you have the documentation, how bout explaining it on this board?
I suspect the issue has to do with Line 30 or Line 28 of Form 1040.
if you did not enter the money you had already received for the 3rd stimulus. Line 30 is wrong and the IRS corrected it.
if you did not enter the money you received for any children from July - Dec, 2021, Line 28 is wrong and the IRS corrected it.
No one stole your money. TT does not even receive your tax refund. And when the IRS makes an adjustment, it does not notify TT or TPG. But it may be due to the Recovery Rebate (stimulus) or Child Tax Credit, for which many taxpayers (not just TT customers) have been making mistakes. You will be getting a letter in the mail from the IRS in 2-4 weeks, so watch for it.

On 12/29/22 I got a TBG Products SBTPG fpr $3,557.90 into my bank account with Wells Fargo. When I googled the name Turbo Tax came up of which I am a subscriber. Why did I get this deposit since I have not filed for 2022?
@avrume123 - is this your 2021 tax refund?
if you used TT and requested that the fees be netted from your tax return, the IRS first sends the money to SBTPG, they remove the fees and then send the remaining about to the bank account you listed on your tax return....
are you thinking it is in error? it is not yours?????
It your income tax money subtract the turbo tax fees and IRS found a problem and fixed it
