Why can't I submit my return electronically and then send in the form 8606 separately?

I have completed and paid, but form 8606 is still not available for e-filing. Why can't I submit my return electronically and then send in the form 8606 separately? I just don't feel like this form should be holding me up from e-filing. Especially when my non-traditional IRA contribution was ONLY $13 (I had a little left in a 401k and stupidly decided to roll it into that instead of just withdrawing it).

Sadly what you want to do is not possible ... the 1099-R distribution is what is causing the 8606 to populate ... the only way to file without it is to remove the 1099-R form and amend later to add it back with the 8606 it produces.

Hang tight a little longer ... that form was supposed to be ready some time today so try again later or wait until tomorrow.

The IRS website now says that form isn't available for e-filing until the 22nd now.  I think TurboTax just hasn't updated their site.  The date has changed several times already.
