Well, one of several possible reason's

1) The TTX computers are not ready for any tax filings yet....maybe Friday, or maybe in another week or so.

2) Even when the TTX Computers are ready, if your tax file contains certain forms, you may still not be able to e-file until late this month.

3)  When  #1 is ready, then Even if all of the federal forms you need are ready, some state forms are not going to be ready until later this month.

Finalllllllllly

4)  DO NOT FILE NOW.....Wait until the end of January.  Even when TTX computers let you e-file, the IRS will not be "Accepting" any e-files until later this month.  Filing quickly won't get you any $$ any sooner.....and if you find out next week, that you "Forgot" to enter something, you cannot get your previously-submitted filing back....you'd have to wait until the IRS responds to your filing, whenever they get around to it.

E-filing is not yet open for 2024 returns.   The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until late in January.  You will need to wait.   And....if TurboTax opens e-filing sometime soon and lets you e-file, all that will happen is that your e-file will sit on a server and wait for the IRS, so even if you e-file, you may wait for weeks to hear if the return is accepted or rejected.

so, i was able to e-file my federal return but my state return i get the 2024 tax transmissions not available screen.

My return that I'm trying to file is all good and said it was ready to file, it gave me the transmitting screen, then it said success, then it gave me 2024 tax year efile unavailable...

do i just need to keep waiting? Because my FED return went through but im just waiting until feb 7th for that to come through. Is it Turbo taxes end or my state? I'm MN.

i tried all the troubleshooting methods as well, different browser, cleared cache and cookies, restarted computer all that. So should i just wait or am i missing something? i called Turbo Tax but they couldnt give me an answer and just said to call back and keep trying...

Dont really know what to do at this point I know its still early but its a bit frustrating knowing i put everything in correctly and i get to the success transmission screen only for it to tell me it didnt actually go through due to 2024 year taxes unavailable.

I've seen several posts from MN filers with the same problem.   I don't know if it's a TurboTax issue or a MN issue.   Perhaps it's related to this statement on the MN DOR website:

"January 13, 2025

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Revenue will open the state Individual Income Tax filing season on Monday, January 27, 2025. This date matches the opening day for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)."

But in any case, if you already efiled the Federal return, you won't be able to efile the MN return until after the Federal return has been accepted by the IRS.

@ sharonthaboss

and

@ SimonLehmster

According to the Forms Availability Table at the link below, the Minnesota forms are now showing as unavailable for print or efile until 1/30/2025.    So for some reason the MN forms have reverted from available to not yet available.

I has something to do with certain MN forms not being ready to file because I’m getting the same message and so is everyone I know filing a MN state return. Something to do with when MN is accepting taxes, so try on the 27th and it should go through. Fingers crossed

The Minnesota state income tax forms will not be available for filing until 01/30/2025

Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

MN here… it’s the 27th (Mn is supposed to open filing today) and I’m STILL getting the “tax transmissions are not available” so frustrating.

I did. Didn’t think to check the turbo tax link even though the MN Dep of Revenue website STILL says you can start filing today (1/27). Oh well.

Same here--tried today (1/27/25) to file my MN return and it still says it's not accepting.

Click on Review on the left side of the online program screen.  See if there are federal or state forms listed that have not been finalized and the dates they are available.

If you are filing in MN, I have gone through multiple calls with turbotax support today and e-filing for MN won't be available until jan 30. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/irs-forms-availabi[product key removed]tax-individual/L0JQ1PHNW_US_en_US?uid=m6ful9f3

So even if everything else checks out, this is why filing is not working!

It's just a turbo tax thing. Filed my bfs with a different tax program and he has already received his federal refund and the MN is in the preparing refund phase

If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and retry your Efile.

If that doesn't resolve your issue, you could try Efilng just your Federal return, then when it has been Accepted, Efile your State return.

Here's more info on Filing Federal and State Returns Separately.
