On the 1099-R form the Payer's Federal ID number is located in the box just below the Payer's name and address, on the left side of the form. It's referred to as a TIN (Tax ID Number) on the form.

The TIN number can also be found on some Payers recording statements just under the column headings.

I need TIN Number for unemployment purposes.
It is on the Form 1099-G that you receive from your state for unemployment compensation.
What if I never received a form? How do I go about it?
If you did not receive a 1099-R, it is recommended that you contact your payer or download your form from your online account. If you are unable to get your 1099-R, you could enter a substitute Form 1099-R.
The substitute Form 1099-R is entered as follows:
I can't get my Colorado unemployment form it's lost what is my Colorado tax I'd number?
If you need to find out what was reported to the IRS and you are unable to obtain a 1099-R, you can try looking in your IRS account.

The Form 1099-G is issued by your state. You will have to check your state tax authority website for the department required based upon what you are needing to enter on the tax return.
If the 1099-G is for unemployment comp, check your state's unemployment website for it.
I can’t find the employer I’d number but it’s not on my 1099-r
The employer ID number is sometimes called the Payer's TIN (Tax Identification Number). It is usually located below the payer's name and address.
Please clarify what form or section you are working on that is asking about Entity number EHV. Is this for a particular state return?
I entered the Payer's TIN number into TurboTax when it asked for the Payer's EIN number. When I electronically submitted my Federal tax return for 2024, it was rejected. The return was rejected because it states that the EIN number that I entered doesn't match the IRS records. I checked the 1099-R and the number I entered, and they match. What should I do now?
You should contact the company that issued the form and get the correct number from them. If the original form was issued with the incorrect number, you should also request for them to correct the form.
