Where can I see the date that was chosen for my state tax payment to be withdrawn from my account?

You will be able to find the date that you chose for your state tax payment to be withdrawn by downloading or printing a copy of your 2024 tax return.

The date you chose for your state tax payment will be on your "Electronic Filing Instructions For Your (State Name)  Tax Return".

This filing instruction shows your date in the top section of the form as: "Date of Withdrawal".

Click here for "Can I print a copy of my return in TurboTax Online before I file it?"

Thanks Linda.  When I look at my state return I do not see "Electronic Filing Instructions" anywhere.  I do see a Payment Voucher and instruction sheet for the payment voucher.  Is it possible that the debit was not actually scheduled?

It is possible.   The state instructions will be in the middle of the complete tax return PDF.   When you open the PDF, scroll down to the last page of the federal return.   The next page will be filing instructions for your state.   If you have multiple state returns, each return has its own instruction page.    In the return I just looked at, the PDF was 37 pages in total and the state instructions were on page 22, so it may be a little tricky to find if you have many pages.

A number of people have reported not having neither the state, nor the Federal electronic filing instructions in their PDF.

I have them in my Desktop PDF

...but my brother, who filed and accepted last week, but used the "Online" software...couldn't find them in his main after-acceptance PDF file.

I lead him thru the "Add a State" procedure, to get into his tax file again....and then to the Print Center where I had him create the Three different PDF files available for his Federal tax return....the "File Only" PDF and the two extended PDFs with all the worksheets.   None of those 3 PDFs had the Electronic Filing Instructions sheet.

Lots of folks are reporting the same problem with "Online"...I think it some major BUG with the Online PDF creation.

Is it possible to call TurboTax to receive the payment date information, if it does not appear on our tax returns as you say it should?

If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return.  It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment.  If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:

TurboTax Online

  1. In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
  2. You should be on your Tax Home page.
  3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
  4. Select 2024, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu).
  5. Once you're in your return, you can navigate around as usual.
  6. Click Tax Tools (in the black bar on the left of your screen) and then click select Print Center.
  7. Click Print, save or preview this year's return

TurboTax CD/Download

  1. Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.
  2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click Filing Inst.  [It's usually toward the bottom of the list.]  The form will appear on the right side of the screen.
  3. You can view the form on the screen or you can print a copy by clicking the Print box at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.

This needs to be redesigned, horrible user experience if someone needs to check back for the exact date that was chosen previously.  Would like to see this information on the Tax Home summary and/or included in the generated pdf when you click the 'Download return' button.
