I do not know when or if the software will be updated to enter an automatic payment date of July 15th.
The guidance that has been given for tax returns that have not yet been filed is to select Pay by check and mail your payment before July 15, 2020.

it's important to get bank account info updated so the government payments get into the correct account (even when taxes are owed. Please prioritize changing the payment date to July 15th. I have 3 returns where the bank info is different from last year when I filed the returns - I don't want the government stimulus payments going to the old accounts. Paying by check (as suggested) doesn't work for this - I want to e-file the returns with ACH withdrawl on July 15

The TurboTax software will be updated with the latest dates to file and pay federal taxes owed for dates after April 15, 2020 and up through July 15, 2020 as soon as possible. However, until the IRS software is updated to receive taxes paid after April 15 without penalty, TurboTax cannot release the updated software code to the their software across all the desktop and online editions, to include all personal, professional and business programs.
