You can check on your state's form availability here. You can check the IRS forms availability here.

It has changed 3xs: February 3, February 10 now pushed back to March 3. So frustrating to the ones that try to get an early start. Ughhhh

Sorry for the frustration @MontyB.

Thanks but It's no fault of turbo tax. I understand that it's the IRS.

Form 8839 will be available 3/3/2022.

Why is the delay necessary for an annual form?

Simple fix. Since TT can’t get it together, use a different software. They aren’t the only game in town.  We are using a different program and will likely continue using it from here on out.

This really is not acceptable. Turbo Tax should be on top of things; especially with updates!

Turbo Tax has to format the form once the IRS and state makes the forms available from their end. You can monitor the forms availability by clicking here

March 3 is the newest release date. It’s been pushed back twice already.

Actually, it is Turbo Tax. The new form is out but just not loaded in Turbo Tax.

Form 8839, Qualified Adoption Expenses for tax year 2021 is estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax soon. Please see the TurboTax FAQ here for dates and availability.

The form is ready, I checked the IRS website. Why do we have to wait so long for you guys to upload or copy it? I

Turbo Tax has to format the form within our systems since it is ready from the IRS site. You can view the forms availability date within Turbo Tax here @jennyontheblah.

The release date by Turbo Tax has changed three times already. Unless it’s changed a fourth time the release date is March 3. I just deleted my adoption credit carryover because it wasn’t enough to hold off filing. Good luck feelings ot though. It was a major hassle!

Turbo Tax has lost my 10 year business as of this year!!!! Due to this form not being available, date change 3xs (2/10, 2/17, 3/3). I filed with HR Block and was accepted under 5 mins. Requested a refund from TT which was denied!!! They will NEVER get me again and it's a shame because I prepare over 2 dozen of my family & friends here as well, but I will be preparing them with HR Block as well!! This SO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OF THEM!!!!

You understand wrong. IRS released the form awhile back. Its Turbo Tax that doesn’t have it loaded in their system, still.

For questions regarding the availability on Form 8839, please see this Help Article IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products. If the form becomes available sooner than currently published on that Help Article, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.

@Painindiaz  You're CORRECT. That was 3 weeks ago when TT lead me to believe it was the IRS holding up the form. I know now and have filed elsewhere. Turbo Tax will not receive my business in the future!!!

I received an email stating this form is available, but it is still sending me in an endless loop. I have a credit carryover and it keeps asking for first and last name. Something still is not right.
