E-filing is closed, so it is a non-issue.   You have to print, sign and date your return in ink,and file by mail.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

In general, the document ID number is still valid proof of identity, even if the driving privileges have been suspended.  But as mentioned, e-filing is closed, and you don't need the drivers license when filing by mail.  (Or, if the license is still suspended next year, it should still work as ID.)

@xmasbaby0 Just in case, is e-filing closed for California taxpayers?  I haven't been keeping up with that situation.

@Opus 17 Yes--- it seems closed even for CA users.   E-filing is simply closed now for users of TT, and will re-open when it is time to file 2023 returns.   2022 returns have to be filed by mail.
