There is nothing in the mail instructions saying the address is only applicable if you use USPS, and also nothing mentioning the services you should use. I sent it through UPS ground, which is not trackable, on 2/11/2019.
TurboTax uses the official IRS address published by the IRS. If UPS cannot track it then that is an issue to take up with UPS.
Here is the IRS address list:
I am not saying UPS can't track it. I want to know what IRS will do because I'm assuming UPS delivered the envelope. Will IRS accept it anyway? Throw it away? Send it back to me (which by now I assume should have already happened)?
According to IRS when you use a Private Delivery Service (meaning you don't use USPS) then you should use the following addresses (and I think TurboTax should mention that somewhere): https://www.irs.gov/filing/submission-processing-center-street-addresses-for-private-delivery-service-pds
I have exactly the same problem. I'm not sure if UPS will still deliver this package, or IRS will simply through it away. Did IRS accept your package last year? Thank you!
Has anybody faced this problem and what did they do in that case ?
Mine never got there! I finally got thru to someone at the IRS today after waiting months. Tomorrow it will be really late so I’m sending another thru USPS but it doesn’t have the right W2. So freaked out! All because of the stimulus I couldn’t electronically send it this year!
