Maybe you are waiting for some forms. Click Review to see if you are missing some forms needed in order to e-file.
Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.
No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.
It is likely happening because one or more of your forms are not yet ready to file. TurboTax will have an update with many 2023 forms released on January 24th. Here is a link to the form availability.
Please try to submit your return again after the 24th.
Went to e-file my state tax. And it said we could not efile your return for the following reason. Tax year 2023 transmissions are not available.
The IRS does not officially open to process returns until January 29, 2024. Most state returns are processed through the Federal Return.
Restarting turbotax did not help. Product is up to date. This is a desktop product and not sure how clearing cache/cookies would help.
Same here... 2/6/24 still Transmission not available..... I paid for this, this should work without an issue!
And to quote another post;
"Restarting turbotax did not help. Product is up to date. This is a desktop product and not sure how clearing cache/cookies would help."
Restarting Turbo Tax did not help. Updating Turbo Tax did not help. It says the Residential Energy Credit forms are not available yet but will be available 2/7/2024. It is 2/7/2024 and still not working. Frustrating. I keep putting it on my calendar and it keeps pushing it off. First it was another form, not this one.
They returned a call yesterday. Have been told here it's because of Ga tax dept. Said it would be ready 9 Feb but to wait until 10 Feb... SMH
A user for almost 20 years and never this much trouble....
This has been resolved. Make sure your software has the latest update. You might also try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and reopen TurboTax.
Ok ... just updated TT and will wait until tomorrow to submit per a previous post ..... so far, it's been a bad year for TT - rethinking how I want to do taxes next year - I've been ready to file and get it off of my plate since 2/1 --
I agree. So many crazy stuff. Wonder if the was a change because Betterment investments says they will not have their stuff until the 12th. The original post said the energy credit would be ready by the 7th and it wasn't. Maybe it is not Turbo Tax. I would like to know. In all my years of doing taxes, they had until 1/31. What has changed???
Just tried to efile again --- same issue .... Beyond frustrating -- I'm losing (lost) my patience.
Thank you -- I did all of your suggestions (yet again - same thing I've done each time) and still the same issue. Not sure why this year's so bad compared to previous years.

2/18 here and I keep having the same issue. Desktop version, so cookies and cache are unrelated. I update TT before trying every d*mn day. NY State and Federal both give me the following:
When you get a message stating TurboTax is not ready to efile or Transmission are not available, it means that the Tax forms are not ready.
Either the IRS or State has not finalized certain forms and your tax return cannot be e-filed until they are finalized and ready to be submitted.

Linda the link you provided only covers 1040 forms. In my case I cannot transmit my 1020 S. Do you know of a link that checks for those forms?
I think I saw something fly by somewhere that the IRS is still working on table 3800. My concern is that I need to file taxes by 15 March and if I can't fail by that time I can't request an extension electronically?
The above link is correct, you just need to select TurboTax Desktop on the top right.
Looks like Form 3800 will not be available until 3.1.2024.
this is not resolved. It's Feb 27th and this error is still happening. I have a corp filing deadline in two weeks and a requirement to e-file. If this issue is not fixed immediately, I can expect TurboTax will handle all liability going forward, correct?
