We received in the mail a Request for Tax Return. I see in our TurboTax account that our 2016 CA Tax Return was rejected. What is the next step?

If you prepared your return with the CD/Download software, you will only need to re-open your 2016 return, then review it for accuracy, print and mail your original return.  E-file rejections are often due to computer issues, but you should check your rejection notice for the reason and correct it if it is not.

If you prepared your 2016 California tax return online, you will need to download the 2016 tax software and your return data file first.  You can download the "amend" software from TurboTax online, and your tax file, using the information at this link:  Amend My Return

Remember, though, that you are not amending, and when you first open your return, say you don't want to amend when TurboTax asks.
