We are getting an error when trying to import 1099 from E*Trade. Says ERROR for site owner. Invalid site key. Any suggestions?

Users have reported that turning off Ad Blocking and Advanced Security temporarily have allowed them to import successfully. Some also have router security that can be disabled temporarily.

Here's some other things to try on Troubleshooting TurboTax Desktop Issues.

If using TurboTax Desktop, and can't resolve an import issue, you can combine 1099-Int/Div 's info into one entry.  For 1099-B data, you can summarize transactions and may not need to mail anything, depending on your transaction types.  Here's more info on How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions

If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies.  In TurboTax Online, you can save your 1099 info as a PDF and import it into your return.

Not a good look for TurboTax.  I am going to try H&R Block and TaxAct software to see if they are more user friendly.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser.

See the following TurboTax Help articles for potential fixes:

Thank you for the suggestion.  I paid for the download and am using that.  Why is there a download and an online option?  Which is better?

is there a fix for the desktop version not the online web browser version?

What error are you getting?

If you are getting a reCaptcha error, make sure your computer is up to date. This has worked for many users.

If you still have issues, see this article where you can sign up for updates: Why am I getting an invalid site key reCAPTCHA error in TurboTax Desktop when trying to import brokerage information?
