We adopted our foster children in 2019, so their names changed. We keep getting a rejection because of this. However, the information submitted is correct. What to do?

When they were adopted did you have their names changed through the Social Security Administration? This may be the problem. Their names/social security numbers are not matching up. It is like a woman getting married, all of the appropriate agencies must have names updated.

Persons on a tax return are verified against what is on file with Social Security.  Sometime people have two middle names or two last names.  You can try a different combination if this is the case.  Sometimes Social Security may only use one of the last names or may think part of the middle name is part of a last name.  Also verify you are using the right social security number with each child and the correct dates of birth.
