I have purchased Turbotax Home and Business download from Intuit with the Advantage option. It has free audit defense for one return using the package. I want to use it for my daughter's tax return I prepared with this package. She is a US citizen living at an address is in India. How can I enter her name and overseas address when I "purchase" the audit defense when prompted in the turbotax easy step pop up screen for this? The screennrequires the address to match the address entered in the tax return. As the Intuit account is in my name will it be possible to use the audit defense for my daughter's return?

I called Turbotax Customer Service and was told that the free Audit Defense provided with the Advantage plan can be used only for the return of the registered purchaser and not not for any other person's return prepared using that purchased product. I recall in 2023 being able to elect not to use it for my return and use it for my daughter's return (both returns were prepared using the product for which I was the registered purchaser). When I mentioned this to the specialist I spoke to I was told that the rules may have changed in 2024. Although I did not read all the fine print when I signed up for the automatic purchase of the download every year, I would think a change in policy made this year such as this should have been communicated or posted to subscribers.
So, short answer is that I got a clarification but not a satisfactory answer.
