Turbotax says CT forms will be available 1/23/25 so I'm wondering why I can't file my CT return yet?

Well---it is early in the day.   And those dates are subject to change.  So....try again later or maybe tomorrow if the forms are still not ready.

CT forms are not ready.  They were supposed to be available yesterday.  Can someone from Intuit give us some guidance when they will be available for download?

Thanks

At this point, none of us know.

1)   Sometimes they are a day late, and those using the "Desktop" software just need to re-run their software updates.  Online users just would try again the next  day.

2)  or it might not happen for another week.  The State expected date can change if the crew working on it hits some major bug that needs fixing...or perhaps the state found a problem and didn't approve TTX starting up yet.   When that happens, it can take a few days for the new "expected" state forms ready date to be updated to a later date.

Hi Serenity:

I e-filed the federal form only with Turbo tax.

The state of CT has the forms ready on their site and filing is free.

Go to:

https://drs.ct.gov/eservices

Look for myconneCT.

This is the department of revenue services for CT.  Create an account and you'll be on your way.  It was very easy.  I filed the state return today for my son.

Hey,

That's what I did. I just filed my federal taxes then did the CT returns through the CT Department of Revenue website. It was free and pretty easy. Hope this helps 😊

Thank you. It loos pretty easy I am just confused on the part where it asks for 1040 form or Schedule 1.

What does that mean?

Thanks

Let me check what I did.  I don’t think I did anything with it.  I’ll get back to you

OK...

I looked at the submission I did this morning and these are the forms I used.  By the way Turbo Tax calculated the same refund as the state of CT site.  I selected C T-1040 and Schedule CT dependent.

Hope this helps.

Hi question did u have to upload any documents like your W2 or documents proving children lived with you etc? I have been filing with TT for 12 years and seen some of you filed federal with TT and the state directly on the website. I just didn’t want any issues ya know?! And if everything goes well and I do file my state with them do I delete my state forms on TT? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

Hi

No.  I only uploaded my son’s W2.  That’s it.

I filed his federal only through TT. I left the state forms in TT.  Did not delete anything.

The state of CT calculated the same refund as TT.  Make sure you update the CT forms in TT when they are available on 1/30.

Hope this helps

Ok thank you. It’s just weird on the DRS site it’s calculating me getting back $245 more than TT said. I tripled checked all the numbers so idk why.

I had the Ct 1040 and CT dependent.   TT and  state DRS calculated same refund of $112.  You can save your work and go back and review to ensure your data entry is correct.

Thank you I appreciate your help. I have the same forms. TT says refund is $792 and CT website says $1037. Both have the same exact w2, forms, info, dependents etc. I’ll figure it out I’m sure. Have a blessed weekend ☺️

Go into TT and on the upper right hand corner open the app in form view.  Make sure you have the same forms as the state.  That’s quite a discrepancy.  You can go back to step by step later.  You can open the state forms and see what TT filled in.  It’s some detective work.

Best of luck.

I totally agree something is fishy. I will check that now. Thanks again
