Turbotax Home and Business 2024 Keeps Asking Me To Activate

What is going on?  I have already activated TT on one computer.  I have already filed two federal and two state tax returns.  Sporadically, when I try to open the program, it prompts me to activate it again, and it uses one of my 5 activations!  Currently my one computer says that the program has been activated on 2 devices which is bogus.  What should I do to stop this nonsense?

In case this matters, I have two homes with pfSense Community Edition routers at both homes.  I also have a site-to-site IPsec VPN connecting the two homes.

Make sure your computer is the same way when you originally installed it. Like with no flash drives plugged in or plugged in if one was. Even a printer plugged in or not. It asked me again so I just closed the program and took out a flash drive that was plugged in and tried again. It worked.

Thanks for the link, but if I try those suggestions one by one in order, I will exhaust all five of my activations unless the first two work.  The program has already used 3 of my 5 activations on one computer.  I really think this is an Intuit Turbotax problem that should be fixed.  I don't have any problems with other programs, i.e. Microsoft 365, Adobe Photoshop, etc., prompting me to reactivate every time I launch their program.  Clearly, the system that Intuit has setup is flawed!

Any suggestions how I can recover my two unnecessarily used activations?

This just happened to me too for TT Deluxe!

I did add a flash drive to an open USB port.  Adding a flash drive causes TT to think it's a different computer?

The flash drive can cause an issue with the computer activation.  Having a flash drive or even a SD card can show a change in the computer which may lead to the software confusing this as a new computer.  If you are having issues, you can contact us here for assistance.
