I was unable to get Turbotax to work on Windows 11 by CD or Download. CD would activate when I inserted it, when I clicked on the Setup Icon, I would get the dialog box asking if I "wanted to let Setup.exe change my Device" I would click on this box and nothing would happen. I tried to download. The file downloaded, however when I tried to activate the program, I would get the same dialog box, however when I tried to nothing would happen after I clicked the dialog box. I have tried to do everything traditionally recommended, I downloaded the latest update to Windows 11, I updated all drivers that needed it, with no results. I contacted TurboTax Tech Support and the technician I talked to over the phone gave up and wished me a good day. I finally gave up, pulled out an old computer that ran windows 10, inserted the CD, and the program came right up. I have used turbotax on this computer three prior years on window 10 with no problems. This issue came up after I updated to window 11. Is there some sort of protection unique to Windows 11 that I need to disable to enable turbotax to run?
You may want to check your security and firewall settings to see if that may be keeping TurboTax from installing. Please see the below TurboTax Help article for more information.
Good Morning and thanks for your input.
The issue does not appear to be an internet connection. The program file downloads, and is present in my download folder. In the CD the file is accessible. The issue is that the program will not install in either form. It wont even begin to install.
Does your computer that is not allowing it to run meet the requirements here?
