TurboTax 2019 unable to start state tax

I'm using TurboTax_Tax_Software_Deluxe__State_2019_Amazon_Exclusive_PC_Download.exe (windows 10) in order to estimate 2019 taxes. The federal tax estimate is fine, and now I need a state tax estimate for Oregon.

 

It recognizes that I've filed Oregon taxes in previous years, and I pressed the "Start" button. I then get a large, borderless white window with "TurboTax" in small letters in the upper left corner, and a red box with a white "X" (presumable a close icon) in the upper right corner, with no other content. The box occupies most of the screen. It's been in the same position for 20 minutes with no change.

 

Any suggestions?

I retried this, and got the same result (blank dialog). 

 

Then shut down turbotax, restarted it, and started the download again. That worked.

 

It's a bug.

Many Oregon forms are supposedly ready for e-file, so it should give you something, even if not all OR forms are ready

First thing to do is to save your tax file, then go to the menu at the top of the page and select  "Online" then "Check for Updates"  And install if there are any waiting. and try again.

Still blank?

 

Then... this is the likely issue with anyone with a blank page during the running of Desktop TTX software on a Windows computer.

 

.......TTX should only be installed and run as an Administrator.....not in some guest account without administrator privileges...but it's hard to know each person's exact setup.

 

But even if you did that already, there is an internal setting that sometimes needs to be implemented also.

 

So...Save your tax file and Exit TurboTax....then:

 1)  right click TurboTax 2019 icon

2)  Select  … Properties

3)  Select the  Compatibility tab

4) In the "Settings" box … check the box to "Run this program as an administrator"

5) Apply...OK...then restart the program and try again

Put the TurboTax CD in the CD drive of your personal computer.  Close the CD Drive.  The TurboTax software will be installed on your personal computer.  Follow the Step-by-Step interview to complete and file your tax return.

TurboTax 2019 Deluxe unable to start state tax California. I've tried many times in the past 4 days including adding 'Run as administrator'. The software always prompt me to the download state loop.

IF that doesn't work, call Customer Support...they'll' try some stuff with you, but if nothing helps, they may need to provide you with an entirely new installation file..:

This may be an issue with your web browser.  Clear your browsers cookies and cache then reboot your computer.  If this does not solve the issue post a reply for additional help.
