I tried to efile. I did my taxes on turbo tax and it went through the review fine and said I was ready to efile. Turbo wanted me to make a correct in one box which i double checked and it was correct. Turbo tax said I had to file by mail. Why? Then because I couldn't file federal by efile turbo tax also wouldn't let me efile the state. Then the state said because I filed electronically I could NOT mail in state but turbo tax would not let me continue to efile my state.
I am having the same issue. It is saying my routing number has too many characters but I have triple checked that I only typed in 9 numbers.
I have tried restarting and everything
Seems like a bug they need to fix to me.
How can I clear my Cache and Cookies in the TurboTax application on my Mac? I am not using the website (purchased the download to the desktop) so the app is not using any specific browser that I could clear my Cache and Cookies for. I have tried restarting multiple times and nothing is working.
You can clear the cache and cookies on the browser you are using when you try to e-file your return. If you are using a Mac, that is probably Safari or Firefox.
If this still doesn't work for you please contact Support.
The solution to the problem was to open the forms and manually change the information. I was able to discover this on my own. The program was not communicating the information to the forms so I could not move on without editing the forms. In the future if this is happening to someone advise them to change the information in the forms. Clearing the cache and cookie would not help this problem.
If you have questions in the future, please make sure you indicate you are using Desktop-MAC software .
Some of those responses were tailored to folks using the "Online" browser-based software...thus the comments about clearing Cache and cookies. If you always make it clear the exact software platform you are using, the fix suggestions are less likely to go astray
I did specify that when directed to to clear cache and cookies. I noted that I purchased the download to desktop. I also called support when this issue first came up and there was no help there either. I think the issue occurred when information was copied over from last years taxes. Please pass along this work around for people that come across this problem in the future.
No the Federal return has not been rejected and I am trying to submit both Federal and State in conjunction. All error checks have been made and my forms do not have any issues. The software simply will not transmit the returns.
